Health and Food

Vaccinations

All cats must be immunised against Feline Infectious Enteritis and Upper Respiratory Infections (Cat Flu).

Owners MUST produce an up-to-date inoculation certificate on arrival.

Please click here for Markfield Cattery's vaccination requirements.

Visitors are politely requested not to touch any cat other than their own.

Food

Good quality food is provided, prepared in hygienic conditions. For dried food we feed Royal Canin and for wet food we provide Royal Canin, Whiskas or Felix. Special diets can be accommodated but owners are required to bring their own food and or cat milk, at their cost. Regular mealtimes are strictly adhered to. Adult Cats are fed twice daily, kittens and older cats according to their special requirements. Fresh water is available at all times.

We can obtain Royal Canin food in a variety of sack sizes including the very economical 10kg sacks. We also sell 30ltr bags of cat litter. See our shop page for more details.

Health

No cat suffering from, or suspected to be suffering from any infectious or contagious diseases can be accepted.

All cats will be examined on arrival and the proprietor reserves the right to refuse admission to any cat showing any sign of ill health pending advice from a Veterinary surgeon. Owners will appreciate that this is essential in order to safeguard the health of all cats boarded.

Please advise us of any pre-existing conditions or if your cat is on any medication.

Veterinary attendance is assured (should it be considered necessary) and any treatment prescribed by a Veterinary surgeon will be continued during the cats stay.

Owners are also kindly requested to ensure their cat's flea and worm treatment is up to date.

Flea & Wormer Reminder Service

You can buy both Drontal and Frontline from our shop as well as register with Drontal and Frontline to receive reminders. Cats should be treated every 3 months for worms and every month for fleas.

Only a very few seasoned travellers take kindly to journeys. With this in mind, owners are strongly advised to put their cat into a suitable basket or carrier when carrying the cat in a strange environment.
