Mark Sangster is the author of this website and he lives in Markfield, Leicestershire, helping his wife, Fiona Sangster, run the cattery.
Mark works full time in IT for Unipart Technology Logistics Ltd. Mark designs and supports middleware applications, using IBM Webshpere Transformation Extender (previously Mercator), webMethods, IBM webSphere MQ. These applications are typically interfacing to Oracle and MS SQL Server databases, from which browser based applications have been written to provide additional functionality over any installed warehouse management system.
When at home Mark, enjoys spending time doing DIY, which has included installing a bathroom, removing a fireplace and installing a gas fire in the lounge as well as building walls and bases for the cattery. Mark has also created a large deck out back, installed lighing, heating and an awning and is looking forward to entertaining his friends and family there.
When not DIYing, Mark enjoys times with our British Shorthair cats, as well as following the F1 Grand Prix. Mark has been to watch a number of the F1 races and so far has visited Barcelona - Spain, Silvestone - England, Magny Cours - France, Interlagos - Brazil (2007 championship decider), Pekeliling KLIA - Malaysia, Spa-Franchorchamps - Belgium, Fuji Raceway - Japan, Shanghai Circuit - China and lastly Istanbul - Turkey.
Marks motoring interests also extend Alfa Romeo cars. Mark and Fiona both enjoy going out in their 1978 Alfa Romeo Spider, 1600 Junior to AROC club meetings and rallys. They are both regular visitors of the local meets provided by AROC East Midlands Section.
Mark also has a relatively rare Alfa Romeo 156 GTA Sportwagon which attracts a lot of attention at the shows and has also been photographed for Auto Italia magazine. This car is now for sale, please click here for more detail.
